Cheer
EQUIPMENT
FPPW Cheer registration includes cheer uniform (top, skirt), game day bows and pom poms. Cost also covers league dues, field usage, local competitions, insurance, and safety equipment. You can purchase additional items if you choose with the swag link.
Sport shorts worn underneath cheer skirt, socks and cheer shoes are not included.
There will be two uniform fitting days prior to the season to make sure every cheerleader receives a uniform with the perfect fit.
Participants that do not attend an equipment day event must make special arrangements to be fitted prior to the bulk uniform order being placed. Missing this deadline will result in that participant being charged for expedited shipping and potentially not being able to play due to lack of uniform.
Preseason
Milestones
Before the season officially begins, every cheerleader must complete a few key preseason milestones to ensure they’re safe, prepared, and eligible to participate.
This includes turning in all required paperwork. Our coaches and team parents are here to guide every athlete through the process, answer questions, and make sure each player is fully ready for the season.
Required Paperwork:
-
Copy of birth certificate
-
Copy of report card with 4 full grading periods
-
Medical history form
-
Player contract
Preseason Activities:
-
August 3rd -- August 13th -- Preseason Bootcamp
-
August 26th -- FPPW Pep Rally (date to be confirmed)

Season
Highlights
The FPPW cheer season is packed with excitement, community pride, and unforgettable traditions. From kicking things off at our high‑energy FPPW Pep Rally to taking the field under the lights at Vandegrift High School for Future Viper Night, our athletes get to experience the full spirit of Viper Nation.
Players also join in the Homecoming parade and other school‑community events, creating a season that’s about far more than football and cheer — it’s about connection, pride, and being part of something bigger.
The season officially starts at the beginning of August with a cheer bootcamp and continues through mid-November, depending on playoff advancement. All games are played in and around the Austin area with Monroe Stadium being our “home field”.
Regular practice will be once a week until the end of season. Days, times and locations are TBD.
Game Day
Essentials
All football games are played on Saturdays. Our teams may play at any of the Hill Country Pop Warner game locations. Monroe Stadium at Vandegrift is Four Point Pop Warner’s “home field”. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from all games for their cheerleaders. Coaches will set up a squad communication system for carpooling and any updates.
Parents should be prepared to cheer until last weekend of October/first weekend of November for HCPW Championship or extra games.
We ask that you commit to having your child at all games during the season (baring emergencies and sickness). Cheerleading is a team sport, and the girls work VERY hard on the dances and stunting patterns that rely on each squad member to play their part. Unlike other team sports, we don’t have “back up players” to fill-in if someone is missing. Thank you for your consideration.

Postseason
Fundraising & Competitions
All participants of Sideline and Competitive Cheer squads are asked to participate in fundraising. Local competitions are covered with seasonal dues, however, fundraising supports participating in other competitions which vary by year.
Expenses for all non-local competitions are covered through fundraising and individual costs per family which includes flights, hotel, food, park entries etc. Locations and activities vary from year-to-year. Most national competitions are located in Orlando, Florida or Charlotte, North Carolina.
