FOOTBALL & CHEER
BUILDING STRONG MINDS, STRONG HEARTS, AND STRONG BODIES

DIVISIONS
Players ages 5-12 as of 7/14/2026 are eligible to play.
All players should register for the lowest possible division in which they are eligible to play. Players will be placed in their appropriate division based on their age and team based on their experience and skill level.

Division 1 is our top-tier program for athletes who are ready to compete at an elite level. This division emphasizes advanced play, deeper understanding of football concepts, and complex team schemes. Players in Division 1 are expected to demonstrate strong commitment and football should be their primary fall sport. Attendance at practices and games is required.

Postseason travel is likely for Division 1 teams, including regional competition, with the Pop Warner Super Bowl as the ultimate destination.

Division 2 is our developmental program for athletes new to the game or building their fundamentals. Players learn football basics, grow confidence, and have fun in a supportive, team‑first environment. Division 2 teams play local games only, offering a balanced experience without postseason travel.

EQUIPMENT
FPPW registration fees include a home and away jersey as well as all required helmet decals. Players are responsible for providing the remaining essential football gear needed for practices and games.

This includes a properly fitted, certified helmet, shoulder pads, mouthguard, cleats, practice jersey, and practice and game pants with pads.

Vikn Sports will be on site during our required equipment fitting day to provide expert guidance on proper fit, helping ensure every athlete is safe, comfortable, and ready for the season.

Participants that do not attend an equipment day event must make special arrangements to be fitted prior to the bulk uniform order being placed. Missing this deadline will result in that participant being charged for expedited shipping and potentially not being able to play due to lack of uniform.
Preseason
Milestones
Before the season officially begins, every football player must complete a few key preseason milestones to ensure they’re safe, prepared, and eligible to play.
This includes turning in all required paperwork, completing 10 hours of helmet‑only heat‑acclimation training, and finishing at least 10 additional hours of padded practice to certify for the season.
Our coaches and team parents are here to guide every athlete through the process, answer questions, and make sure each player is fully ready for the season.

Season
Highlights
The FPPW football season is packed with excitement, community pride, and unforgettable traditions. From kicking things off at our high‑energy FPPW Pep Rally to taking the field under the lights at Vandegrift High School for Future Viper Night, our athletes get to experience the full spirit of Viper Nation.
Players also join in the Homecoming parade and other school‑community events, creating a season that’s about far more than football — it’s about connection, pride, and being part of something bigger.

Football games occur Saturdays from August 29th - October 23rd with playoffs running through mid-November. Please note that Hill Country Pop Warner includes teams from multiple school districts so a game may still be scheduled during an LISD long weekend.

Our season truly comes to life because of the incredible support of our parent volunteers. From helping on the sidelines to organizing team activities and keeping our athletes prepared, parents play a vital role in creating a smooth, successful experience for every child.
Postseason
Playoffs & Super Bowl
We’re building a program that teaches strong fundamentals while also preparing athletes to compete at a high level. Our coaching emphasizes proper technique, discipline, and football IQ, giving every player the foundation they need to grow and succeed.
At the same time, our teams compete with purpose throughout the regular season, with the opportunity to advance into playoffs, and for qualifying teams, the chance to move on to regional and even national championship games. It’s a balance of development and competition that pushes athletes to reach their full potential.

Congratulations to our 2025 10U Viper Black Southwest Regional Champions!
